Why you can't afford NOT to train as a Life Model...

  • Many art models start with little or no training and work for years repeating the same difficult to draw poses at every session. Often polite artists who feel the need to flatter won't say anything about a difficult to draw model. (But they may stop coming when they know that model is working or complain about the model to whoever hires them, meaning they may get fewer jobs!)

  • Some models who have no training in professional standards, do certain things that distract and break artists' concentration and even upset and disturb artists who are trying to draw/ paint them. Don't be that creepy model who unknowingly makes artists uncomfortable!

  • Know your rights so that you can keep yourself safe, be paid what you are worth and make a career out of modelling. When models stick together and won't work for less than a certain amount, and won't work in conditions that aren't appropriate, all models benefit.

  • Keep yourself safe. Learn practices to keep your body safe in this highly physical job.

  • Supplement another part-time income from performance, music or visual arts with flexible work hours and no long term commitment.

  • Visual Artists- get free art tuition while you pose at Art Schools, Universities & Community Classes.

  • Gain body confidence posing for Fine Artists and/or Photographers by learning how to present your best self and see yourself through the eyes of Fine Artists!

  • Use modelling as a workout. Get paid to improve your fitness & strength by holding poses that work out your body!

  • Get paid while you travel! Many models travel all over the world with their work- artists draw, paint, sculpt & photograph models everywhere!

  • Get access to interviews with seasoned life models & artists, get their best tips and tricks, their wisdom and listen to their (often funny) stories, so you can be inspired and also avoid making their same mistakes. (Including tips to avoid strain on your body when you pose).

Sarah’s life modelling training was very thorough while engaging. I was inspired to become a model when I attended my first life drawing session which was also facilitated by Sarah - I thought the models had a great challenge of being the muse for so many artists at once, and I wanted to see if I was up for that challenge. Sarah’s training course taught me modelling etiquette, the different types of poses, and my rights and expectations as a model. I felt ready to enter the previously ambiguous world of life modelling with confidence! I now work for a local Life Modelling agency and regularly model at universities, art schools and community classes.

Not only is Sarah lovely and easy to get along with, she is an exceptionally relaxed and kind teacher, which made my introduction to life modelling both informative and enjoyable. Every class run by Grace Art Events, whether you are modelling or drawing, is cool and collected, totally peaceful, and filled with lovely people. Under Sarah’s guidance, I was easily able to become a life model that was informed, collected, and wanted. Meanwhile, Sarah and her classes with Grace Arts got me introduced to many artistic people and businesses around Brisbane, making finding work and gorgeous people a whole lot easier. She taught me a lot of things that I didn’t know about modelling, “faux pas” I would’ve otherwise made, and is the reason I am so calm and confident as a model. I would highly recommend her modelling classes to any first timer considering life modelling, and for those who are new to the Brisbane modelling scene; her classes make things a lot smoother, calmer, and cooler, and get you informed and introduced to everything and everyone you could expect from the Brisbane modelling scene- plus have a wonderful time!

How much does Life Model Training Online cost?

Many models start out without any formal training, what they don't take into account is how slow and ineffective that can be...

or worse... the costs associated with every mistake they make with the jobs they DO get!

"As an artist, when I first started hiring freelance models, I would have people contact me looking for work and tell me that they had experience- only to show up, not have a clue of what to do, not behave in a professional manner, make me look bad for hiring them and expect me to pay them a big chunk of my hard earned cash at the end! Needless to say, they didn't get called back! Sometimes these models lost me customers at my classes and their unprofessional behaviour reflected badly on my business, which meant I'd tell my artist peers including other life drawing convenors my experiences with these models also. As my business grew, I couldn't any longer take the risk- so I'd only hire models I already knew were experienced. This is WHY it can be so DIFFICULT to break into modelling as a profession! Hiring new models is a RISK! One that not many Life Drawing Convenors, Art Schools and Artists want to take. Having to train models on the job is a waste of the artist's time and money. "
